Medical treatment
Tip:
If you are
seeing a
dermatologist and are
receiving prescriptions,
make
sure that your
physician/dermatologist
is aware of any current
or
past medical conditions.
Treatments that promise
“fast” or “over night” results often capture the attention of
acne sufferers hoping for quick resolution. How ever the fact
remains that acne does not clear over night.
It takes an average
of 6-8 weeks for acne to see results and remember, continued
treatment is necessary to keep acne from re-appearing and also
remember what works for one person may not work for another.
There are two kind of medicine used for acne treatment.
OTC (over the
counter) medicine.
Prescribed
medicine.
There are some herbal treatments available for acne too, but
here we don’t consider them as medical treatment.
Tip:
If you do not see
improvement in 4-6 weeks
using OTC, then you should see your
Pediatrician about using a prescription
medication.
